Damon stars in Clooney’s upcoming movie The Monuments Men and while the pair is good friends, the older actor couldn’t resist playing some tricks on Damon during breaks in filming.
A couple of weeks into the shooting schedule, Clooney and Damon made a pact to “get in shape” and began watching what they ate and working out together.
To Damon’s horror, he noticed his pants getting tighter instead of looser as the weeks went by and concluded he was somehow gaining huge amounts of weight – before realising his co-star was to blame.
“He was having my pants taken in every couple of days by about an eighth or a sixteenth of an inch,” Damon told The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
“I was working out and the pants were getting tighter. I said, ‘This just can’t be!’ I never said anything to him, which he probably loved even more.”
Clooney has pranked dozens of co-stars during the past two decades. Some of the best include putting a bumper sticker on Brad Pitt’s car that read “small penis on board”, filling a producer’s underpants with M&Ms while he was asleep and stealing friend’s cameras to snap photos of his private parts wearing a pair of glasses.
