George’s mum Nina Clooney has confirmed the pair’s engagement saying she is very excited with the news.
“You can say I’m extremely happy, Amal’s a lovely girl,” she told the Mail Online.
“I like her very much.”
Amal, a British attorney, was spotted wearing a huge ring on her left ring finger last week when the couple were spotted celebrating at in LA last week.
The London law firm she works for, also confirmed the engagement through a statement.
“The barristers and staff of Doughty Street Chambers offer their best wishes and congratulations to Ms Amal Alamuddin, a member of Chambers, and Mr George Clooney on their engagement to be married,” the firm said.
Amal and George have been dating since last October.
