The doyenne of Australian racing, Gai Waterhouse knows more about horse racing and the business that goes along with it than anyone else.

The doyenne of Australian racing, Gai Waterhouse knows more about horse racing and the business that goes along with it than anyone else.

The 58-year-old veteran trainer was born into the sport as the daughter of a Randwick racehorse trainer TJ Smith, and her own children have followed in her footsteps with daughter Kate a David Jones racing ambassador and son Tom taking a keen interest.

The latest controversy surrounding Gai Waterhouse and her family has certainly made headlines but she’s been in the spotlight for decades, always with impeccable style.
