BREAKING: Frasier star John Mahoney has died at age 77

Veteran actor John Mahoney, best known for his role on Frasier, has reportedly died at age 77.

According to John’s publicist, Paul Martino, he passed away in hospice care in Chicago, as reported by TMZ.

The British-born actor famously played the fussy Martin Crane, father of Kelsey Grammar’s character Frasier, for 11 seasons in the hit sitcom. The show ran from 1993 to 2004.

He was nominated for two Emmys and two Golden Globes and won a SAG award for his portrayal in the show.

John appeared in roughly 30 films over the years, and more recently, he had a recurring role in Hot In Cleveland as Roy, the love interest of Betty White’s character.
