This moment I looked in the mirror for the first time in about 10 years and I was devastated at what I saw.

Despite competing in the 2008 season of The Biggest Loser Australia, the former reality TV show contestant continues to inspire others on their weight loss journey by showing off her healthy lifestyle on her Facebook page.

The 42-year-old mother of three from Perth tipped the scales at 121kgs when she first went on the show but through hard work she slimmed down to a shadow of her former self with a svelte frame, toned waist and muscular thighs.

On Monday night, the evening the second The Biggest Loser Families episode was due to air, Alison shared a jaw dropping side-by-side comparison of herself pre and post Biggest Loser.

In her lengthy post Alison said watching the premiere of the show was “tough.”

“The raw emotion of the contestants having to stand in front of a mirror and finally acknowledged where they were at,” Allison said.

“I know for me on my journey this was one of the hardest and most humiliating moments.

“This picture is the very same moment when I was beginning my time on the show.

Allison wrote of making a “conscious decision to change” and explained after debating “all day” with whether or not to create the post using a more recent image of her “black bra and knickers no makeup” next to her former self in a bid to show hard work pays off.

“I’m not perfect but I’m fit and healthy, this is just honest and real,” said Alison.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever believe I could do this.”

Allison, who is now a health and fitness coordinator for her local area, also offered some advice to the current Biggest Loser contestants.

“I’m not sure what path the contestants or what path you take from here, however I hope you all stand and acknowledge where you are at, choose where you want to be and believe you have everything inside of you to reach it!”
