Former Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman and Full House actress Lori Loughlin have been charged with allegedly carrying out fraud to get students into prestigious colleges.
A massive US federal indictment has led to several wealthy parents, elite college coaches and college prep executives being charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud, according to CNN.
TMZ have reported that Huffman has been arrested and is currently in custody, set to be released so she can appear in court.
A group of 50 people have been charged in the investigation, whereby parents allegedly paid a college prep organisation to take a test on behalf of students, or they were paid to correct their answers in the test.
The scheme also involved the bribing of college coaches to help admit students as recruited athletes.

CNN reported that 33 parents have been arrested.
Those arrested included actors, CEOs, a fashion designer, a senior member of a law firm, and various prominent business people including William McGlashan, according to the New York Times.
The investigation undertaken by the FBI was referred to as “Varsity Blues”.
“This case is about the widening corruption of elite college admissions through the steady application of wealth combined with fraud,” Andrew Lelling, the US attourney for Massachusetts.
“For every student admitted through fraud, an honest, genuinely talented student was rejected.”
It is understood parents spent anywhere from $200,000 to $6.5 million to guarantee their child’s admission.
Felicity has two children, daughters Sophia Grace, born in 2000 and Georgia Grace born in 2002.
Meanwhile Full House alum Lori also has two daughters, Isabella Rose, 20 and Olivia Jade, 19.
