Sandra Oh was the name on everyone’s lips at today’s Emmy Awards as the former Grey’s Anatomy actress became the first Asian-American woman to be nominated for most “Outstanding Actress in a Drama” series.
While the Killing Eve star didn’t take home the coveted award, we think she’s already won at life – with the most loving and adorable parents ever.
The 47-year-old took mum Jeon Young-nam and dad Junsu as her dates to the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Tuesday and were proud as punch.
Walking the red carpet with their daughter and stopping for interviews, the parents were gracious while letting their daughter have the spotlight.
In an interview with Variety, Mrs Oh spoke of her daughter: “I’m very proud of her,” she said.
But the cutest moment was when the interviewer asked Jeon Young-nam if she watched the show, and she turned to her daughter and kissed her on the cheek – proving you’re never too old for PDAs with your parents.
“OMG that happened on film!” Sandra exclaimed and it was just so great!
Even though Sandra lost out to Claire Foy from *The Crown, we know that her parents would still be as proud as ever.
However, Twitter (and even Claire herself) hasn’t been so forthcoming with the news.
Fans took to social media to express their disdain, feeling she had been robbed of the award.
While she didn’t win, it is still a remarkable effort and step in the right direction for diversity in Hollywood.
