As the east coast low continues to batter the coast of Australia, actress Elsa Pataky has experienced the wild weather conditions first-hand.
The Spanish superstar, who lives in the Byron Bay hinterlands with husband and fellow Hollywood heavyweight Chris Hemsworth, documented her own touch-and-go experience with flood waters during a car ride with her children on Monday afternoon.
Taking to her Instagram account, the 44-year-old shared a series of videos showing her car bogged down in rising waters.
“I got stuck. Awesome. Oh god… Oh my god, what am I doing?” a flustered Elsa can be heard saying in one video.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the mother-of-three was able to find the humour in the stressful situation.

“A bit too optimistic? I was so sure I could cross,” the Tidelands star joked in another post, which showed muddy brown water gushing past her car.
“My only option… Through the window,” Elsa revealed of her escape plan.
In a final video, Elsa and her children can be seen safely evacuating the car before being greeted by their friend and Chris’ personal trainer Luke Zocchi, who towed their vehicle away from the flooded road.
“What would I do without you guys?” Elsa asks.
In an interview with Sunrise earlier this year, Elsa’s husband Chris Hemsworth, 36, said they were relishing the extra time at home with their children India Rose, seven, and six-year-olds Sasha and Tristan, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m finding it nice to not have my schedule mapped out for the next six or 12 months,” Chris explained of his movies being postponed.
“The last ten years have been so busy anyway. It’s nice to just be home with the kids and the family laying low for a bit.”
