Nine years ago, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi tied the knot in a loving ceremony, but despite recent rumours that the couple were on the rocks, its seems like they’re more loved-up than ever.
The Ellen Degeneres Show host posted a loving tribute to Instagram, writing, “@PortiadeRossi and I got married 9 years ago today,” alongside a black and white photo of the two on their wedding day.
Portia posted another cute snap of the two of them to her Instagram. She wrote, “We’ve been together so long that not only do we look like kids in this picture, but it was taken with a camera! Happy 9th, Thing.” Cute!
While rumours of a divorce on the horizon has spread, the couple are putting up a united front. Just last month, the 59-year-old gushed about De Rossi in an interview with Good Housekeeping.
“Portia understands me completely,” she said. “In our vows, she recited a quote, ‘It is good to be loved. It is profound to be understood’ – and to me, that’s everything. What ‘I love you’ really means is ‘I understand you,’ and she loves me for everything that I am. She supports me and makes me happy.”

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, De Rossi discussed how she fell for her long-term partner, saying that it took a long time for her to work up the courage to ask her out. “We actually met socially and I just felt that immediate draw,” she recalled. “We did talk a little bit and then over those three years, we saw each other at parties or at various things, but the one time that was the most significant was during a photoshoot actually.”
“I just walked over to say hello to her, and I couldn’t believe it, but she turned around and it was like an arrow was shot through my heart,” she continued. “I felt weak at the knees and I was overwhelmed with how I felt, but then it took me about 10 months to get the courage up to actually do anything about it.”
