In a sweet gesture, Italian TV personality Elisabetta Canalis has spoken out with a congratulatory message for her former flame, who’s now expecting twins with wife Amal.
When asked by Chi magazine her thoughts on the Oscar-winner’s news, the 38-year-old replied, “I’m happy [for him], really happy. This news brought me joy.”
“When someone wants to have a baby and that actually happens, it’s a gift. I wish him the best.”
Elisabetta and George dated for two years before their untimely split in June 2011.
After tragically suffering a miscarriage in 2014, Elisabetta has since welcomed a little one of her own with her husband, orthopaedic surgeon Brian Perri.
George recently opened up about becoming a dad, to not one, but two darling bubs.
“We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure,” he said to French program Rencontres de Cinema.
“We’ve sort of embraced it all… with arms wide open.”
He also explained how his “very supportive friends,” many of whom are already parents to children in their teens, reacted to the 55-year-old actor and first-time dad’s exciting news.
“It got really quiet, and they all just started making baby crying noises,” he recalled. “And the whole table just busted up laughing.”
Earlier this month, it was confirmed by none other than a loose-lipped Mrs Clooney that her son, George, would be welcoming both a little boy and girl.
“It will be one of each! Yes, a boy and a girl. That’s what I’ve been told,” mum Nina Clooney let slip to US Vogue.
She added: “How marvellous! My husband and I are extremely excited.”
The human-rights lawyer is reportedly due in March. Until then, we look forward to her no doubt impeccable pregnancy style!
