Every week, Bindi Irwin continues to get better and better on Dancing with the Stars.
However, her dancing partner, Derek Hough has revealed it’s taken time for her to get to this point.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hough said Bindi couldn’t dance when they first met.
“You have no idea…No joke, she could not dance, she really couldn’t.”
He said it’s awesome to see the Aussie teen “evolve,” “be aware of her body” and have “this confidence.”
“Even her posture is different,” he said.
“I knew Bindi had this dancer living inside of her that she just wanted to get out, but to see her like actually do it, to see her actually perform.”
He then continued to sing her praises saying: “And that’s the thing, I’ll give her the steps and I’ll give her the moves and she’s doing them and technique, and it’s working hard on that. But then something else happens that she does and it’s just all her.”
He continued: “And it’s this performance, it’s this connection, it’s this commitment to the steps. It’s teachable, but it’s only teachable to a certain degree…but she goes beyond that.”
The duo will compete this week in the finale that will take place over two nights in the US.
They remain in the competition in the top four, alongside Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold, Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson, and Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess.
