We already knew that he was one seriously doting dad but it’s heartwarming gestures like this that really put Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at the top of the list of all-round Hollywood nice guys.

Upon hearing that Gold Coast Suns’ new recruit Pearce Hanley and Brisbane Lions’ rookie Cian Hanley’s little brother Tom is fighting stage-4 cancer, the actor made a video shout-out for the sick 15-year-old on Instagram.

According to News.com.au, the Hanley brothers will be travelling back to their native country of Ireland to be with Tom (which Dwayne states in the video), and their respective clubs have given them extra time to spend with their family over the Christmas-New Year’s break.

Along with The Rock’s video, the 44-year-old father-of-two wrote a heartwrenchingly sweet message to Tom.

“This one’s for my buddy Tommy Hanley,” he wrote.

The movie-star-slash-professional-wrestler then went on to give the young man (and avid The Rock fan) some advice.

“I’ve never met you, but I already know so much about you and can tell you’re an awesome, honourable and strong young man,” he continues.

“Make sure you eat up dude and get your rest. Those two things are gonna help you stay strong during this fight.”

“Stay being the coolest kid and always keep in mind how much you inspire all your family and friends – including me.”

“We’re all pulling for you Tommy! Stay strong and Merry Christmas to you and your family – Uncle Rock AKA Dwanta Claus.”

This isn’t the first time Dwayne has leant his kindness – and celebrity status – to the greater good. In November, the muscle-bound star invited one of his biggest fans, a Down Syndrome “rockstar cheerleader” named Hoku, and her family to hang out with him in his trailer while on the Hawaii set of his new filmJumanji.

“I’ve officially become her biggest fan… literally, I am physically her biggest fan,” he wrote.

“It’s also so cool that you said we are dating now!”

Really, can this guy can’t any sweeter? Bless.
