Actress Shailene Woodley has been arrested following her attendance at a peaceful protest.
The 24-year-old had been marching against the Dakota Access Pipeline when she was allegedly grabbed by police.
The Fault In Our Stars star had been filming the protest for Facebook live and inadvertently ended up recording her own arrest for criminal trespass.
At one point in the recording her camera was facing the wrong way so she began to narrate what was happening for the viewer.
Shailene has been involved in protests for the pipeline for some time.
โI donโt know if you guys just heard me,โ she said, โbut I was walking back to my RV, which is right there so that we can go back to camp peacefully and they grabbed me by my jacket and said that I was not allowed to continue.โ
She told her viewers, โthey had giant guns and batons and zip ties and theyโre not letting me go.โ
Shailene then tried to ask one of the police officers a question to which he responded, โwe canโt talk right here, but youโre going to be placed under arrest for criminal trespassing.โ
The actress is a favourite for her roles in young adult book to movie adaptations.
The Divergent actress then asked why she was the only one being arrested, and the cop told her it was because she had been identified.
โAll right, Iโm being arrested,โ she told followers. โBecause I was trespassing like everyone.
โIโm being arrested,โ she continued. โI was down there with everybody else. I donโt know whatโs going on.
โAs soon as they came I left. Itโs because Iโm well known. Itโs because I have 40,000 people watching.โ
