A shock report from US publication Life & Style magazine allege the on-off lovers said “I do” in a very romantic “secret sunset ceremony” at an Aussie beach over the Christmas break.
An insider went on to reveal that both Liam and Miley “have told close friends that they’re already married. It was a spur-of-the-moment. Now they both refer to each other as ‘my wife’ or ‘my husband.'”
Liam and Miley were spotted enjoying each other’s company in Byron Bay, Australia in December last year.
While it’s not entirely out of character for Miley to make unexpected choices, it was reportedly all Liam’s idea!
According to the magazine, The Dressmaker star decided to avoid another prolonged engagement by staging a surprise ceremony during Miley’s December visit to Australia.
“He corralled his brothers, Chris Hemsworth, 32, and Luke Hemsworth, 35, and tipped them off that he wanted to stage a surprise ceremony during Miley’s visit,” the source revealed.
“Liam choked up as he began describing his love for Miley,” the insider said. “Then Miley started crying, too. It was very emotional.”
After exchanging vows guests were all asked to light a candle which “represented the eternal flame of their love.”
Afterward, the pair reportedly gifted each other “wedding bands that had been fashioned from palm fronds,” to solidify their new bond as husband and wife.
The pair, who called off their engagement back in 2013, caught the world by surprise when they reconciled at the end of 2015.
Further fueling speculation they were serious, Miley dusted off her old diamond engagement ring from her beau and didn’t hold back in showing it off on Instagram.
Just yesterday, the ring was still firmly placed on her finger as she cuddled up to her rescue kitten in a sweet video shared on Instagram (you can watch the video above).
Meanwhile, just last week Miley reportedly bought and moved into the neighbouring $2.5 million Malibu home right next door to Liam’s mansion.
Liam has never shied away from the fact that Miley has a hold over him. “You fall in love with who you fall in love with, you can never choose. I guess some people just come with a little more baggage. We were together five years, so I don’t think those feelings will ever change,” he told Men’s Fitness last year.
