Angie Kent and Yvie Jones lead the tributes to Di Kershaw after Gogglebox star’s tragic death

Tributes have flowed in for beloved Gogglebox star Di Kershaw, who tragically passed away this week after a secret battle with cancer.

The 76-year-old was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour in her throat several months ago, but she only told her close family and friends of her declining health.

After Di’s shocking passing, Gogglebox star Angie Kent took to social media to pay tribute to her former co-star.

“Devastating news. Sending so much love to her family and friends and GB [Gogglebox] fam. What a fire cracker she was! A big loss xx,” the former Bachelorette alum wrote.

Angie then shared another post praising Di with Gogglebox partner Yvie Jones.

“Very saddened to hear this morning that fellow Gogglebox member Di has passed away. She was such a force,” the duo wrote.

Fellow Gogglebox star Adam Densten called Di “an absolute legend”.

Yvie Jones, Angie Kent, Jad Nehmetallah and Sarah Marie Fahd paid tribute to Di.

“We’ll miss the laughs, the wit, and the smack downs of Mick. You are irreplaceable Di!” he wrote on social media.

Sarah Marie Fahd also made a heart-warming post to honour Di and her life.

“We will never forget you Di. Our thoughts are with Mick and your family at this difficult time,” Sarah penned.

“We can’t believe you’re gone. Rest in peace you beautiful, elegant, witty, fashionable and creative angel.”

Jad Nehmetallah posted: “RIP DI, you will be missed. Thank you for all the great laughs and memories.”

Di is survived by her husband Mick, their adult children Victoria and Alex, and young grandson Harvey.

The Sydney-based couple were Indigenous art dealers and had been married for almost 50 years.

Mick and Di were popular among Gogglebox viewers since its first season in 2015, with fans loving Di’s straight-to-the-point TV reviews, the couple only missed one season, deciding to self-isolate in the midst of COVID.

Di was also celebrated off-screen, the TV personality received an Order of Australia Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2020 for her service to the visual arts.
