To commemorate the day and say thank you beloved Australian singer and The Voice coach, Delta Goodrem teamed up with the nurses at St Vincent’s Hospital to perform a rendition of her song, Together We Are One.

And, it’s a beautifully fitting choice.

“Nurses are first in line to care for us and be our communicators & companions in crisis, critical thinkers and innovators. The heart of soul of the Hospitals, we thank you,” Delta captioned the video.

She then went on to say in the clip: “I wanted to thank all the nurses, the angels at St Vincent’s Private and Public [Hospitals] I am so grateful for everything you do.

“When people are in vulnerable states they look to you and you are the absolute angels of this earth and heroes. ”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Nobody knows the importance of nurses better than Delta herself, who at 18-years-old was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system.

It’s no coincidence Delta chose to team up with the nurses at Sydney’s St. Vincent Hospital, as she received her cancer treatment at The Kinghorn Cancer Centre located on the same hospital campus.

Reflecting on her diagnosis and battle Delta told WHO: “”It was as if a bomb has gone off and you have to put all the pieces back together.”

“My body had just gone through a battle and it hurt. It took a much longer time to get back to the ‘you can take on the world’ feeling.”
