Ever since former The Voice coach Delta Goodrem went public with her guitarist boyfriend Matthew Copley in 2017, speculation about the pair’s impending nuptials has been the talk of the town.
For years, the pop princess has teased fans and hinted about her big day with a possible Byron Bay location, a Cerrone ring, a J’Andreatta dress and VIP guest list.
But now a top TV insider tells Woman’s Day every detail of Delta’s wedding could soon be revealed… and we’re all invited!
Taking to social media in December, Delta, 36, announced she had launched her own production company, Atled Productions, with her “long-time partners and friends” at Nine.
“This has been a dream for a very long time, and I’m so excited to share that I’ve launched my own production company,” she gushed.
While her first major project was her festive special, Christmas With Delta, which saw the songwriter performing her favourite carols, Woman’s Day‘s insiders insist her next move could be a TV wedding spectacular!
“There’s talk Delta will self-produce a fly-on-the-wall documentary series following the lead-up to her wedding and, of course, the extravagant ceremony,” says a source who reveals it would “sit perfectly at the network, which would jump at the chance to air a TV wedding special”.
“As Australia’s sweetheart she’s got incredibly loyal fans and was able to lead The Voice for almost a decade. There’s definite interest and she’s got an incredible story… It would make perfect viewing and be a ratings hit!”
Now, close friends tell Woman’s Day there’s every chance the special program could be well into production, with speculation Delta and Matthew already said ‘I do’ over the new year.
It comes just after Delta’s best friend and former The Voice co-host Renee Bargh, 35, appeared to have held a secret hens night for the singer at Sydney’s Opera Bar.
Alongside a girlfriend called Jacqui, Renee and Delta stunned at the popular location for a night of “celebrations”. Renee later posted a shot of herself posing in front of a “Love Bus”, reportedly in Byron Bay.
Certainly, a TV wedding is not uncommon for celebs, with Kim Kardashian, Mario Lopez and Carmen Electra also streaming their big days on the small screen.
