With a bevy of smash hits, Delta Goodrem has no doubt paved the way for Australian singers in this country, and now she is focusing on another good cause close to her heart – marriage equality.
The 30-year-old has shared one of her most moving songs, which celebrates marriage equality.
Delta penned the song for her close friends, Aussie make-up artist Glenn Nutley and American film publicist Chris Garcia, who tied the knot in Los Angeles last November, where same sex marriage is legal.
The Aria Award-winning artist sang her new ballad, You And You Alone, at the couples’ nuptials which was held at The London hotel in West Hollywood. The big day boasted a slew of celeb names including Rachel Hunter, Renee Bargh, Kym Johnson, Cody and Ali Simpson.
In conjunction with America’s historic ruling for marriage equality, the songstress has now shared the intimate moment across her social media pages with the hashtag #LoveWins.
The video shows Delta playing the piano singing You and You Alone, teamed up with stunning moments from Glenn and Chris’ wedding.
Delta has been a long-time supporter of same-sex marriage, saying “I believe in equality – it’s a non-conversation for me. Some of my best friends are gay, so I can’t understand any other way of thinking except that love is love.”
In Australia, the Liberal MP Warren Entsch intends to set in motion a cross-party gay marriage bill into federal parliament within the next month.
Meanwhile, The Voice star has been enjoying a blossoming new love of her own with beau Chris Stafford.
Delta has been spotted out and about with her new DJ boyfriend and she couldn’t be happier!
