David ‘Kochie’ Koch is briefly leaving Sunrise for a special family reason – his daughter Georgie is getting married in London.

It’s undoubtedly an exciting time for the proud dad, who is also father to Brianna, Alexander, and Samantha, whom he shares with his wife, Libby.

David will be back on our screens in no time.

While breaking the news on-air the morning TV veteran gushed, “Georgie is getting married, the last of the four, so it’s going to be good.”

He also revealed he is going to spend some quality time with his in-laws as he will be staying at their home for the big event.

“We’re all sharing a house with he and his parents before the wedding and we’ve never met.

“It’ll either be Father Of The Bride or Nightmare On Elm Street. It will be a bit of fun,” he joked.

Above all else, Kochie is a proud family man, and aside from being a loving father, he’s a doting grandfather to seven grandchildren.

There’s Oscar, 12, Lila, 10; Jax, 9, Teddy, 5, Ella, 18 months, Florence, seven weeks and Catalina, four weeks.

So, there is no doubt the wedding will be a big one to the 66-year-old’s delight.

However, fans of the presenter shouldn’t fret because he isn’t pulling a Carrie Bickmore, who has left The Project for a few months to travel Europe with her family; he will be back in three brisk weeks.

According to Woman’s Day reports, in March, after 20 years at the helm of Sunrise, the TV mainstay may be ending his time on the show.
