David ‘Kochie’ Koch celebrates his daughter Georgie’s wedding to her husband Alex Merkel

David ‘Kochie’ Koch has shared his joy after watching his daughter Georgie marry her partner Alex Merkle.

The Sunrise host and his large family flew to London for the special event and Kochie took to his Instagram to mark the occasion sharing pictures of himself walking Georgie down the aisle, the newlyweds holding hands after the ceremony and group pictures with the whole family.

“Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Merkel. And welcome to the family Alex, Uwe and Gerlind. Last of our mob to be married. Such a wonderful day. Wedding in Regent’s Park. Fun, emotional, beautiful. All about family,” the proud father-of-four and grandfather of seven gushed in his caption.

Kochie’s peers shared congratulatory messages to the Sunrise host in his comments section.

Kylie Gillies wrote, “Glorious ❤️❤️❤️ whilst his former co-host Melissa Doyle shared, “Congratulations!! ❤️❤️,” and the Sunrise official Instagram posted, “👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️.”

Finally, Kochie’s current co-host Natalie Barr commented, “So beautiful!! Huge congratulations Georgie and Alex (and Kochie and Lib!) looks amazing.”

The 66-year-old also shared footage of his family performing The Nutbush at the reception, his granddaughters’ stellar performance as a junior bridesmaids, and his daughters Brianna and Samantha as bridesmaids.

David revealed he was taking a break from Sunrise to watch his youngest daughter get married in London in June.

While breaking the news on-air, the TV veteran gushed, “Georgie is getting married, the last of the four, so it’s going to be good.”

He also revealed he is going to spend some quality time with his in-laws as he will be staying at their home for the big event.

Kochie posed with his wife Libby and the happy couple.

“We’re all sharing a house with he and his parents before the wedding, and we’ve never met.

“It’ll either be Father Of The Bride or Nightmare On Elm Street. It will be a bit of fun,” he joked.

But luckily, it appears all went well with his new family members!
