The 44-year-old shared a touching letter about his late father on Twitter one week after he told followers he’d be “offline for a while” following the music icon’s passing.

Duncan, also known as Zowie Bowie, reposted an open letter written to his father by a palliative care doctor.

The Marie Curie charity originally shared the tribute written by Dr Mark Taubert to the late singer.

In the letter Mark explains how David’s private 18-month cancer battle helped him to lessen the fears of a dying patient.

“At the beginning of that week I had a discussion with a hospital patient, facing the end of her life. We discussed your death and your music, and it got us talking about numerous weighty subjects, that are not always straightforward to discuss with someone facing their own demise,” he penned.

One of the most striking parts of Mark’s note was when he said, “In fact, your story became a way for us to communicate very openly about death, something many doctors and nurses struggle to introduce as a topic of conversation.”

The UK based medical practitioner also thanked the fallen icon for his most recent album Blackstar and lead single Lazarus, which he said had a “profound effect” on both himself and the people he works with.

“Your album is strewn with references, hints and allusions,” he wrote, adding, “For me, that fact that your gentle death at home coincided so closely with the release of your album, with its good-bye message, in my mind is unlikely to be coincidence. All of this was very carefully planned, to become a work of death art.”

David Bowie passed away on January 10, just two days after he celebrated his 69th birthday. The musician was still going full steam ahead by celebrating the milestone with the release of his 28th album.

The legend will be remembered by his loved ones including wife Iman, Duncan and David’s youngest daughter Alexandria in a private memorial to bid their final farewell to a “beloved husband, father and friend”.
