David has been a passionate advocate for UNICEF for a decade and now the dad-of-four is embarking on an incredible journey to raise awareness of his favourite charity.
In celebration of David’s 10 years as an ambassador for UNICEF, he came up with the idea to play seven games of soccer in seven different continents.
The athlete has been keeping us updated on his journey through Instagram, while the BBC has joined him to film a 90 minute documentary.
First stop for Posh’s husband was Papa New Guinea where he had the interesting task of making soccer balls out of banana leaves.
“I don’t think I’ve ever made a football before a game before, this one is made from banana leaves. The hat was given to me by the tribe,” he wrote in one snap.
Next on the itinerary is Nepal, followed by Buenos Aires and Djibouti in Africa.
The 40-year-old will then make his way to the heat in Miami to the below freezing temperatures of Antarctica.
And if you weren’t already impressed enough, Mr Beckham will end his trip in his old stomping ground Old Trafford in England where he’s called in a few favours from his soccer playing pals to participate in a match to raise money for UNICEF.
Seven is David’s number of choice for this trip, due to the fact that he spent his sporting career with the number seven jersey. In a sentimental touch, it’s also his daughter Harper’s nickname.
Meanwhile the rest of the Beckham’s are in the UK supporting their patriarch from afar, with proud wife Victoria sharing a snap of her hubby on the trip writing, “David in Papua New Guinea on his 7 games in 7 continents trip x vb #LoveOfTheGame @Unicef.”
No one can fault you David, keep up the incredible work.
