David Beckham heads to Asia on a humanitarian mission

Soccer star, heartthrob and all round good guy David Beckham has taken to Instagram to share some snaps of his time touring parts of Asia, raising awareness for violence against children.

We know he’s an excellent soccer player, we know he’s an even better dad, and we know that his abs are made of steel but all that aside, David Beckham again proves that kindness and compassion are the sexiest traits of all.

The father-of-four is currently in Cambodia with UNICEF and he shared a sweet snap of himself on Instagram being surrounded by beaming local kids.

David shared this snap at Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia

In the picture, the soccer star can be seen showing the children photos he’s taken on his rather impressive camera and he paired the pic with an equally sweet caption, writing, “Today’s amazing visit with @unicef to meet children affected by violence.”

He added: “Violence against any child is unacceptable. Children should never be in danger…great to see @unicef work & the smiles on these children’s faces.”

A day earlier the 40-year-old uploaded another picture to Instagram, this time of he was visiting the largest religious monument in the world, Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia.

“Amazing day in Cambodia visiting the Angkor Wat temple …. One of the most beautiful places in the world ,” he wrote to his 7.1million Instagram followers.

The super-star athlete met with Asia’s Special Olympics team

David has been an ambassador for UNICEF for 10 years and he said of his current visit: “I am here in Cambodia to meet children who have experienced violence, hear their stories and see what Unicef and its partners are doing to keep these children safe.”

“It is shocking that every five minutes a child dies because of violence somewhere in the world. This has to stop.”

Days earlier the British athlete spent some time in China where he met with Asia’s Special Olympics team.

David shares some hugs with the Special Olympic team

He again took to social media to wish the team luck in their upcoming competitions, “Had an amazing time today with the special Olympics team @thevenetianmacao… Truly inspirational people….. I wish them luck in the @specialolympics,” he penned.
