David Warner has made a touching tribute to his fiance Candice Falzon for her support during the difficult time following his teammate Phil Hughes’ death.
Posting a picture of Candice and the couple’s daughter Ivy Mae on instagram, the Australian cricketer was filled with admiration for his soon to be wife.
“Words are inadequate to express how thankful I am to have such an amazing person and beautiful daughter in my life who showed me incomparable love, care and support during these difficult times,” he wrote.
“I want to thank you @candyfalzon and Ivy for being my strength and for showing me your love, patience and kindness in all things you say and do. Love you both.”
Candice was by David’s side during his fallen teammate’s funeral service, which took place in Macksville in Northern NSW.
David has also expressed his love for his ‘little brother’ on Instagram.
“RIP my little man. You will always be with me when I walk out onto the field. Not just a mate but a loved one to us all big man. Forever in my heart brother for life. Miss you buddy,” he wrote following the shock news of Phil’s death.
Last week, tributes flooded in from around Australia and the world as fans joined in on a social media campaign titled #putoutyourbats by sharing images of their cricket bats laid out in tribute to the young sportsman.
