“There was nothing I could do besides support Candice, and I found feeling helpless extremely challenging,” he says in an exclusive interview with Woman’s Day. “For me to see my partner in agony and know there was nothing I could do was very tough.”
Dave may have a reputation for being tough on and off the field, but this little bundle of joy has completely won him over, with the sportsman so besotted he spent every second he could with Ivy before cricket called him overseas.

“It’s going to be tough,” he admits just days before he has to leave his ironwoman partner and Ivy and fly to the United Arab Emirates to play Pakistan.
“Leaving them behind is going to be really, really hard but I’ve been blessed with the time I’ve already had with Ivy.”
Candice is dreading Dave’s time away but feels blessed they’ve had a wonderful three months together and enjoyed Ivy’s first three weeks before he’s off again.
