The father-of-three shared a photo of himself via Instagram in a blue hospital gown and hair-net alongside the upbeat caption: “Hey Ho lets go! #snipsnip.”
Earlier in the day the 44-year-old funnyman published another snap, this time he was dressed in casual attire and proudly holding a pack of new underwear.
“Thoughtful wife’s gift to celebrate this mornings #snipsnip,” he joked.
Undeterred, the radio star made sure to document the entire process and shared a post-op photo. “Done like a dinner. #snipsnip,” he captioned the shot which shows him resting up and swaddled in a white gown.
Last week the star – who is the proud father to Rafferty, six, Sadie, four, and Tess, two, with his wife Holly – revealed on KIIS 101.1 that he was all booked in for the operation, which is a form of male sterilisation and will mean he can no longer add to his brood.
“I went the other day to the urologist and he went through what goes on, he showed me pictures and where they’re going to cut, where they’re going to tie… they tie both ends in little knots. I’m going for the general anesthetic,” he explained.
Before going onto admit the procedure was a little unnerving: “The one moment he did slightly worry me was when he said there could be possible side effects. One of them is ongoing chronic scrotum pain.”
Best of luck Hughesy, we hope you make a speedy recovery!
