There’s nothing quite like the connection a mother has with her daughter, but it appears to be especially powerful when the two come together to raise awareness for the greater good.
Enter Courteney Cox and her daughter, Coco Arquette, who appeared closer than ever when they teamed up to battle motor neurone disease (also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS) on Saturday, October 14.
The mother-daughter duo, who wore matching tees and tights, joined forces for the 15th Annual LA Country Walk to Defeat ALS in California’s Exposition Park over the weekend and, judging by the pictures, this is a mother-daughter bond that will never be broken.
Representing “Team Nanci” (Hollywood power publicist Nanci Ryder was diagnosed with ALS in 2014 and has since lost her ability to eat solid food and walk unassisted), Courteney and Coco, along with celeb pal Renée Zellweger, banded together at the event to raise much-needed awareness and funds for the disease that currently impacts as many as 1800 Australians each year.
Coco, now 13 and the only child of Courteney and her ex-husband, David Arquette, cuddled up to and held hands with her mum for most of the 1.6km charity walk.
Courteney and Coco have made this event an annual reoccurrence on their busy social calendar, with the two joining the likes of Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon at the fundraising event last year.
Here’s to thinking of those who, like Nanci, are living with ALS, as well as the importance donating money to ALS research. Visit MND Australia’s website for more information about what you can do to help those impacted by ALS.
