The shock split has been confirmed by numerous sources close to the former celeb couple, with an insider relaying toPeople that “they’ve been having problems for a long time.”
TMZ reported that the 51-year-old and her 39-year-old partner called time on their relationship days prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
According to HollywoodLife.com, who broke the news of the split, their source revealed that Courteney was “devastated”.
Explaining, “They were going to counselling because they were having issues and fighting a lot, about everything. He just decided he wanted to separate. He hasn’t really given a reason, but mainly said he wants to focus on his music and can’t take the fighting.”
The former Friends star and the Snow Patrol guitarist dated for six months before getting engaged in June 2014.
Courteney recalled the romantic proposal, which took place at her daughter, Coco’s, now 11, birthday party held at her [godmother, Jennifer Aniston’s

The actress told Jimmy Kimmel during her September 2014 appearance that Johnny asked for Coco’s permission to marry her mum.
“He gave her a little diamond ring and got on his knee. And she said, ‘Great! I’m going to camp tomorrow. Let’s do it right now!'”
The couple made their final public appearance back in August, just after Jennifer’s whirlwind wedding to Justin Theroux. Although, the mum-of-one did share a sweet selfie on Twitter at the end of September with Johnny kissing her head.
It would have been the first marriage for the musician and the second for Courteney, who divorced Coco’s father, David Arquette, after 13 years of marriage in 2013.
