Brinkley, a mother-of-three proves she’s sexier than ever smiling in a blue bodycon bathing suit on the cover and told the magazine that she had no qualms about getting older.
“I’m actually excited about turning 60,” Brinkley tells PEOPLE. “I feel on top of my game.”
The 59-year-old model first became a swimwear cover girl back in 1979 for Sports Illustrated and was featured in the magazine numerous times during the 80’s. Brinkley was one of the first fully fledged supermodels and helped pave the way for Elle Macpherson, Cindy Crawford and other iconic models of that era.
Christie credits her mostly vegan diet and regular exercise for maintaining her enviable shape and let it slip that ‘special facials’ from her dermatologist were her beauty secret.
After four divorces, including a scandalous public divorce trial with architect Peter Cook in 2008, Brinkley credits her three kids, Alexa Ray Joel, 28, Jack Brinkley-Cook, 18, and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, 15 for keeping her young and focused to stay fit and healthy.
“Because I’m an older mom, I have a responsibility to my kids as well as myself,” she says. “I want to be there for them.”
