Currently holidaying at Parrot Cay – a private island paradise and playground for the uber-wealthy in the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos, Christie shared her shiner, with her 128,000 followers on Instagram.
By way of explanation, Christie revealed that it was all because of a bird that she was trying to rescue, that she had to cut her holiday short to head to Miami for cat scans and stitches!
Christie wrote: “We interrupt this holiday to take a little unplanned excursion to Miami.”
Gracious even whilst sporting stitches and a black eye, Christie still made time to thank all those that helped her in her time of need, including the Parrot Cay team who got her out and the hospital experts.
Staying optimistic, she even managed to slip in a joke at the end for her best pal: “to my bestie @artminster who spent her much needed and deserved holiday by my bedside .. I can’t possibly thank you enough and I offer you a pain check .. I mean rain check!”

It seems that didn’t spell the end of her tropical jaunt in paradise though, as the former supermodel shared an image of the sunset back in Parrot Cay.
Christie, 61, also posed on the beach, showing off her amazing bikini body, while keeping the damaged eye covered! She wrote that the hat: “keeps the sunset off my rainbow eye..”
Christie continued: “It’s very colorful but the swelling is going down, still tender, headachy, but I am oh so grateful as I am well aware of how lucky I was after such a blow to have my brain still be as silly as ever and I am also so appreciative of all your kind well wishes! Thank you !”
Seems like she’s on the mend! Best wishes for a full recovery!
