Speaking to Studio 10, the popular television and radio personality explained she doesn’t let nasty comments get her down.
“When someone calls me fat I know that, I’ve got a mirror, tell me something I don’t know,” she quipped.
Before defiantly adding: “That really doesn’t bother me to be honest, that’s like saying I have brown hair. I am an imperfect person and I know that about myself.”
Despite her tough skin, Chrissie touched on one memorable incident when she first found fame on Big Brother way back in 2003.
The mum-of-three recounted overhearing one of the crew members talking negatively about her weight.
“I was taking my bra off and I heard someone behind me say ‘I know you like big women’”, she recalled.
“And I was like ‘What’s going on, are they sending pictures of my boobs to friends?Like what, have I become someone’s fetish?’ I felt very vulnerable and scared, it was awful.”
The I’m a Celeb alum also addressed the harsh criticism she faced over leaving her children, especially her now-two-year-old daughter, Peggy, to film the hit reality show.
“That was absurd. My husband told me that and at first I was upset because I thought that’s not true, but then I just felt … how stupid. To judge someone for working, when they are a woman in 2015, the onus was on the person that said that, nothing to do with me.”
We love Chrissie’s open and honest personality and can’t wait to tune in when she returns to the radio with a guest spot on Fifi & Dave’s breakfast show on Fox 101.9.
