Chris Hemsworth reveals moving back to Australia was “the best decision we made”

Chris Hemsworth might be one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, but he still prefers the quiet life.

The Aussie actor has no regrets about relocating his family to Australia. In fact he thinks it was the “best decision” he’s ever made.

Late last year Chris, his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children, two-year-old daughter India and 10-month-old twin sons, Sasha and Tristan, packed up their bags and relocated from LA to the blissful New South Wales coastal town of Byron Bay. And the Thor star couldn’t be happier.

“It’s the first time in years I’ve felt like I have a home again,” the Aussie hunk revealed.

“For 10 years, I’ve had no base and led a pretty nomadic existence. Since we moved back, I feel much more grounded, and I like that.”

Cashing in the big city lights of LA for the relaxed surroundings of Byron Bay is reflective of Chris’ down-to-earth upbringing. A small town boy at heart, the Hemsworth boys were all raised in Victoria on the idyllic Phillip Island.

He may have moved away from Hollywood, but Chris has definitely brought a touch of glitz and glamour to his new surroundings. The genetically blessed family have moved into a majestic beach-side mansion reportedly worth $7.2 million, which plays host to some of the area’s most beautiful views.

At the end of the day it’s all about creating the best life for his family.

“We were living in California and it just wasn’t conducive for the lifestyle that we wanted with kids,” he said.

“Los Angeles is tricky to get around, there’s paparazzi to deal with, and I had this feeling that I just wanted to move back to Australia. My wife loves it, and I thought that’s where I want my kids to grow up — that’s the world I want them to be a part of, because that part of the world is such a special place.”
