Chris Hemsworth still calls Australia home! The Aussie actor turned Hollywood super star has decided to relocate his family to Australia.
Taking up residency on the NSW coastal town of Byron Bay, Chris, his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children, two-year-old daughter India and 10-month-old twin sons, Sasha and Tristan have relocated permanently.
The Thor star says he no longer needs to base himself in LA to secure work.
“We were in LA for six or seven years and then once we got the opportunity not to be there full-time, it was good to get back to Australia,” he said.
“And it’s great. Quiet, coastal town – [it] couldn’t be further from Hollywood, which is nice. A nice break.”
The actor, who revealed he’d always hoped his children would grow up in Australia, splashed out $7.2 million on a beachside mansion last year.
It’s clear that Chris and Elsa put family first, with Chris recently opening up about the joys of being a father.
“I think it makes you less selfish, because it’s no longer about you,” he told E! News. “It can’t be. It’s about someone else, which is refreshing. It’s nice to not spend all your time thinking about your own problems and garbage up there and I just have so much fun doing it. It’s the best.
“And now I’m a bit more choosy, I think, with when I work and how I work because it better be worthwhile to take me away from them.”
