For all you cynics out there who think that love is dead after the Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus break up, it’s certainly not the case for Liam’s older brother Chris.
The Thor star shared a belated message of thanks to his family, friends and followers who wished him a happy birthday and also gave us a look at the heartwarming present that his wife, Elsa Pataky gifted him for his special day.
Dressed in a hoodie and dark cap, Chris, who turned 36 on August 11th, shared a snap of himself covered with a colourful cape made by his own wife’s fair hands.
“A very late thank you for all the birthday wishes and gifts. My favourite was this new cape that my lovely wife knitted me #truelove @elsapatakyconfidential,” he captioned his post.
However, his choice of words did stir up a little debate in the comments section with many correcting the handsome actor that the cape was in fact crocheted.
“It’s crochet and it’s stunning. The colours really pop,” one fan commented.
“It’s crochet, don’t tell her she knitted it she will kill you !!! 😂” joked another, with another warning him, “Dude that is crochet!! Don’t disrespect your wife by calling it knitted!”
Of course the Spanish-born actress also shared a loving tribute to her husband on Instagram with a selection of photos featuring the couple and their children.
“Happy birthday to my favourite human being, my husband my partner, my love, best dad ever, Im so proud of you and who you are. Don’t ever stop making us laugh. You make every moment in our lives so happy,” she gushed in her caption.
It’s been a fun couple of months for the Hemsworth/Pataky family who celebrated Elsa’s 43rd birthday in July in sunny Ibiza.
The Byron Bay locals jetted over to the Spanish party town with some of their closest pals, including fellow Byron locals Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso. In photos posted to Elsa’s Instagram account, the group can be seen partying on a yacht and posing in front of a private jet.
“Early birthday celebrations with my favourite people,” she captioned her post in English and Spanish.

Talent agent, William Ward introduced Chris and Elsa in 2010 and just three months after meeting, the two were married.
“It did happen quick and it just felt right, just, it made sense,” Chris said of his speedy marriage on Good Morning Britain. “There was no great plan to any of it to be honest, we were on holiday and we said ‘Why don’t we get married too?’ and then the next minute…”
The couple, who live in the northern NSW town of Byron Bay, are proud parents to India, seven, and five-year-old twin boys Sasha and Tristan.
