West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle has celebrated the one-year anniversary of the ‘Don’t Blush Baby’ scandal concerning Channel 10 reporter Mel McLaughlin by posting a video along with a controversial message to Australia.
The video shows Gayle grinding against his partner at the Ultra Carnival in the Caribbean with the caption: “4th Jan officially 1 year anniversary #DontBlushBaby – Australia, lighten the phuck Up!!!”
Charming!
He caused outrage this time last year when he hit on McLaughlin during a Big Bash League interview in Hobart on live television. It certainly made for uncomfortable viewing as he sleazily propositioned her:
“I wanted to come and have an interview with you as well, that’s the reason why I’m here… to see your eyes for the first time. Hopefully we win this game and we can have a drink after, don’t blush baby.”
Gayle was fined $10,000 for making a pass at her, a decision which divided Australia, with many saying it was too harsh a punishment.
