Because people love to judge other people’s parenting choices on social media, Charlize Theron has recently come under fire for her son’s choice of fancy dress costume.
Last week, her 4-year-old son Jackson, who she adopted from South Africa in 2012, was spotted out with his famous mum dressed as his favourite princess, Elsa from Frozen.
According to Refinery 29, he was “wearing a dress and a hat with a long Elsa braid.”
But while, let’s face it, most kids love nothing more than dressing Elsa, people on the internet had a lot to say about the situation:
A lot of the tweets put emphasis on the fact that Jackson is black. As does this article from Media Takeout, which also seems to claim Charlize is raising him as “a transgender”.
Luckily, there are some people in the world celebrating Charlize’s commendable decision to let Jackson dress and act exactly how he wants. It’s not harming anyone, so why shouldn’t she?
Sounds like the internet needs to Let It Go.
