A new day has finally come for the multi-platinum singer who will be back performing after nearly year’s break.

Celine announced in August 2014 that she was cancelling her Las Vegas shows and a planned tour of Asia after her husband, manager and long-time love Rene Angélil was diagnosed with throat cancer.

The 47-year-old was excited to reveal to Entertainment Tonight that her husband of over 20 years was very much on the mend and is doing really well in his battle with throat cancer. “We know the path that he’s going, the treatments,” she shared. “I knew he was amazing. He’s such a champ. He’s working hard on that.”

In fact, Rene is returning to his former self and has been helping his wife plan her long awaited return to the Las Vegas venue.

“[Rene’s] strong. We’re creating this show together,” Celine told ET. “We make changes together. He wants me back. He wants me strong, and this is what we’re doing together.”

It has been a long and arduous journey for the family, with Celine becoming the carer for her husband and their three sons, Rene-Charles, 14, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 4.

In March the My Heart Will Go On singer sat down with ABC News revealing that Rene had to use a feeding tube.

“He can’t use his mouth, he can’t eat, so I feed him,” Celine explained to Deborah Roberts. “He’s got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day.”

And she has been hands-on throughout. “I do this myself. And so I feed my husband and I feed my kids,” she smiled.

Speaking of her kids, Celine admitted despite the difficult subject of their father’s health, she was always open and honest with the three boys.

“If you tell the kids, like I said to my children, ‘You want to come and help me feed papa today… You want to help me out? Want to hold the water? You are a good feeder. Good job, Nelson. Good job, Eddie. Thank you so much. Come on, give a kiss to papa.'”

“We are taking life one day at a time. [But] we are choosing to live,” the inspirational star mused.

We are so happy things are improving for the family and can’t wait for her return to Vegas!
