Just one day after attending her husband’s funeral, the mother-of-three had to say another goodbye as she attended her brother, Daniel Dion’s memorial service with her family.
Similarly to Rene, Celine’s 59-year-old brother also lost his battle to cancer.
Montreal newspaper, Le Journal de Montréal reported that Celine arrived with her mother, Therese, to the Montreal based funeral home, Salon Rajotte Charles to pay respects.
It’s believed at one point the singer and her family began to honour her musician brother by singing.
Fans of the songstress flocked to the Canadian city to show their support and offer their condolences to Celine, who is the youngest out of her 14 siblings.
Daniel’s funeral is expected to take place on Monday at the Saints-Simon-et-Jude Church in Celine’s hometown of Charlemagne, Quebec.
The 47-year-old and her sons, five-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy and 14-year-old Rene-Charles, mourned Rene Angelil at his televised state funeral at the Notre-Dame Basilica, the church where Celine married her husband over 21 years ago.
Due to the couple’s popularity, Celine allowed the service to be broadcast on giant screens outside the church and online while flags across Quebec will remained at half-mast throughout the day.
“I understood that my career was in a way his masterpiece, his song, his symphony,” Celine wrote in the program, speaking of Rene.
“The idea of leaving it unfinished would have hurt him terribly. I realised that if he ever left us, I would have to continue for him, without him.”
In a time of sadness, Celine was exceptionally proud of her eldest son, Rene- Charles, who spoke of his father at the funeral.
The young teen managed to get a smile out of his mum as spoke fondly of his father and their mutual love of smoked meats.
“Fifteen years is not a long time to get to know your father,” Rene began.
“He had a busy life but we were getting to know each other through golf, poker, smoked meat and other wonderful food,” he added fondly.
“Bonding more and more as time went by. You left me now with enough good memories of you to share with my younger brothers. As they grow older without you being around, I’ll make sure to pass on what I’ve learned from you.”
Before concluding, “You are a tough act to follow, but with your help everything is going to be fine. Dad, I promise you there that we are all going to live up to your standards.”
