Saturday January 14 marked one year since Celine Dion tragically lost her love.
To mark the day, the songstress shared a video tribute in honour of Rene Angelil.
“It’s been a year since Rene left us,” she penned alongside the Facebook video. “He will always be in our hearts.”
The video showed intimate family photos ranging from Rene’s childhood, his time as a musician in Canadian pop rock group The Baronets to tender moments from his relationship with Celine.
The footage celebrated Rene as father, showing him with his kids.
He is seen holding their then-newborn son Rene-Charles, who is now 15.
We also see Rene hugging his wife’s baby bump as she prepares to give birth to their twin sons, Eddie and Nelson, who are now six.
Later that day the songstress took a moment to share her second tribute to Rene, an acappella rendition of Sia’s song My Love.
“My memory loves you, it asks about you all the time.”
“Especially today… One year later, I wish R.I.P. meant Return If Possible. Forever yours, Céline xx,” she captioned the video.
The video shows the mum-of-three in bed, crying, reminiscing about her marriage as she looks back through photographs of their life together.
Celine’s husband passed away last year at the age of 73, after he lost his ongoing battle with throat cancer.
Along with his wife and their three kids, Rene is survived by his three older kids from his previous marriages – Patrick, 48, from his first marriage to Denyse Duquette; Jean Pierre, 42, and Anne Marie, 39, from his second marriage to Anne Renee.
Celine has been praised for her poise and strength in the face of such tragedy.
She is set to return to her Las Vegas residency on January 17.
