Hugh Jackman helped make it a Broadway-style affair by singing Peter Allen’s ‘Quiet Please, There’s a Lady on Stage’ which garnered a standing ovation from the assembled mourners.
Her daughter Melissa Rivers, read out a heartfelt letter to her mother and all tributes and readings reportedly combined a sense of loss, with the sense of humour that Joan would have wanted people to show.
The funeral comes amidst reports that Joan’s death has been referred to the New York Police Department for further investigation.
