Cameron Diaz has opened up about her refusal to have plastic surgery, saying she wishes "ageing gracefully" was an option in Hollywood.

At 41, movie star Cameron Diaz is fit, active, successful and gorgeous. But that hasnโ€™t stopped the star speaking out about ageism and revealing to Oprah that even she has felt like a โ€œfailureโ€ for not looking younger than her years.

โ€œWomen donโ€™t allow other women to age gracefully,โ€ says Diaz. โ€œAnd we donโ€™t give ourselves permission to age gracefully.โ€

The actress turned author was on an OWN TV special about ageing to promote her new book, The Body Book. Cam spoke about societyโ€™s โ€œcrazyโ€ obsession with youth and the pressure it puts on women to want to defy nature.

โ€œFor me I feel like if I โ€“ itโ€™s almost as if we have failed if we donโ€™t remain 25 for the rest of our lives. Like we are failures. Itโ€™s a personal โ€ฆ failure. Like our fault that at 40 years old that I still donโ€™t look like Iโ€™m 25,โ€ Cameron told the talk show queen.
