Over the weekend, the pair rung in their 17th wedding anniversary and Catherine led the way with a heartfelt tribute to her partner in crime.

Alongside a never-before-seen photo from their wedding day at the Plaza Hotel in New York on November 18th, 2000, the 48-year-old thanked the actor for his undying love and support.

“17 years ago today, I said ‘I do’ to my best friend and father of our two and a half month old son,” she began.

“Thought it could never get better than that day, but it did. Happy anniversary darling, Michael.”

“With you, in my life, and Dylan and Carys, every day could be a twelve hour fantastic party at the Plaza in New York. Love you. #love #lovestrong.”

Michael was quick to follow up CZJ’s sweet dedication, posting a loved-up photo with the Welsh-born beauty to his Facebook page and musing: “Happy 17th anniversary my darling!”

17 years on and Michael and Catherine are the proud parents to son Dylan Douglas, 17, and daughter Carys Douglas, 14.

In 2010, Michael was diagnosed with tongue cancer and Catherine has long battled with bipolar disorder.

In 2011 and 2013, the actress checked into hospital to seek help for bipolar and depression, before separating from her husband.

Thankfully they worked through this tough chapter and got back together in 2014.

They haven’t looked back since.

The Hollywood heavyweights, pictured in 2015, are the proud parents to a son Dylan and daughter Carys.

“We had a little bump in the road. The problem in this business is that everything is so public,” Michael 73, told the Daily Mail in 2015.

“I love Catherine as much, more than I ever have. And hopefully the feeling’s mutual. We worked things out – if both people want to work something out and make it better, you can do it. You can’t do it if it’s just one person.”

We’ll raise a glass to that. A huge congratulations!
