Life is never going to be the same again for the singer and her husband, who can’t wait to welcome their little one.
Catherine Britt promised herself she’d keep living life to the full after being diagnosed with cancer, and she has lived up to her word.
Not only has the gorgeous country singer been given the all-clear after fighting the insidious disease since 2015, she and her husband James Beverly are also expecting a baby!
“It’s our little miracle,” Catherine tells Woman’s Day exclusively.
Catherine and James are overjoyed with their baby news.
“We found out in the middle of nowhere – which is literally our life right now. In the red dirt, in a caravan, by the side of the road. It was very us!” laughs the 32-year-old, who jokes that the couple were in such shock they did “something like 50 pregnancy tests”.
“It was the best news of my life,” says Catherine, who’d always hoped for children.
Catherine is one of the Australia’s most celebrated country singers.
After going through invasive chemotherapy and radiation to treat her breast cancer in 2015 and 2016, she didn’t know if she’d ever fall pregnant.
“Potentially, there is that risk I wouldn’t be able to. They put me into early menopause to protect my ovaries during the chemo.”
The couple had even booked an appointment to look into IVF, but cancelled it after finding out Catherine was pregnant the day before they were due to attend.
