Ellen Pompeo, who plays Meredith Grey in the medical show, posted an image on her WhoSay account of herself with her co-stars on set sporting blue scrubs and captioned the shot “Blue is the new black”.
When asked by one fan on Twitter if the picture meant Pompeo watched the gaol drama the 44-year-old said she thought everyone should be watching it.
“Those girls are giving it,” Pompeo wrote.
The image does get one to thinking what it would be like if the prison and the hospital dramas combined and made a super show? How would Dr Grey and Dr Yang fair in lock up?
Pompeo, who has worked as an actress for 20 years, recently revealed once the show wraps she would quit acting.
“I definitely don’t have a strong desire to act after Grey’s Anatomy,” Ellen told Buzzfeed this week.
“I definitely feel myself transitioning. I don’t find acting terribly empowering.
“For the place I am in my life, I think my age, once I hit 40, I feel differently. I don’t necessarily want to work for other people,” she added.
Grey’s Anatomy is currently in its 11th season and its creators have not announced plans to end the show.
