Carrie Bickmore may not be a regular appearance on our television screens on The Project after November 30, but she will be on another platform.
The Hit Network has announced Carrie’s radio show with co-host Tommy Little is set to continue for another four years.
The pair are thrilled to continue hosting their national radio show Carrie & Tommy which has now been on air since 2017.
“This show is such an incredible joy for me and being able to bring that joy to our listeners for another four years is extremely exciting,” Carrie said in a statement.
“We already have so many thrilling adventures locked in for 2023 but in true Carrie and Tommy style, I am sure none of those will go as planned!”
Tommy joking responded: “We’re here for a good time and a long time. Carrie is my best mate so another four years of riding her coat tails is a dream come true.”
The light-hearted nature that listeners love will be here for the long run Sothern Cross Austerero Chief Content Officer, Dave Cameron affirmed.
“SCA is delighted that Carrie and Tommy have committed to another four years of their leading national Drive program,” he said.
“Keeping them in the Hit Network family for the long-term was key for SCA and we know our listeners will be the thrilled with the news. Carrie and Tommy are both filled with humour and heart, which is what makes the show so distinctive.”
After 13 years on The Project, Carrie admitted: ”It’s no secret that this show has become a second home to me.”
But Channel 10 is yet to announce her replacement, but while on news.com.au‘s podcast I’ve Got News For You her BFF Kate Langbroek has suggested guest panelist Chrissie Swan, Georgie Tunny and Studio 10 host Sarah Harris as potential contenders.
“Well, I actually think there’s probably a good chance of it being one of those three,” she said.
All three of the candidates have featured on The Project before, Georgie and Chrissie presented earlier this year as Carrie took extended leave.
