Carrie Bickmore is the cover star of the Weekly’s December issue.
The Project host is renowned for her intelligence, wit and compassion, but also for her bravery.
Speaking to Caroline Overington, Carrie says, for her, Christmas is a time for reflection.
Greg Lange, Carrie’s husband and partner of 10 years was very ill with brain cancer for most of their relationship before he succumbed to the disease shortly after Christmas day.
“Christmas has changed a lot for me over the years,” the mother-of-two told The Weekly.
This year, Carrie gave birth to daughter Evie with partner, Chris Walker.
It was Carrie’s pitch for support for brain cancer during her Gold Logie acceptance speech that showed her true courage.
“Everyone thinks this is a rare form of cancer – it is not,” Carrie said after nervously donning a blue beanie in a speech televised to millions.
Afraid of looking like “the biggest idiot” Carrie was unsure until the final moment if she would go through with her speech.
