Ever since the Today Show‘s shake-up at the beginning of the year, there have been constant rumours about the future of the show and breakfast team.
But now the Nine Network have spoken out via an official statement and revealed that one big name in Aussie television most definitely won’t be joining Nine. At least not yet.
In their Sunday newspapers and online, News Corporation published a story stating that the Nine Network has approached Carrie Bickmore to join the Network.
But Darren Wick, the Nine Director of News and Current Affairs, has taken the unusual move of responding to these reported claims branding them “a lie.”
“Nine has not approached, and does not intend to approach, Carrie Bickmore or her representatives about joining Nine as a host of the Today Show, nor in any other role,” Mr Wick continued.
Carrie will not be joining the Today Show or the Nine Network.

“News Corp’s story is not a beat up – it is completely made up. “
The current Today Show breakfast team line-up features Georgie Gardner and Deb Knight as well as Brooke Boney, Tom Steinfort and Tony Jones.

Carrie, meanwhile, has been keeping herself busy with hosting The Project, looking after her family of five and in her spare time casually accepting an Order of Australia medal.
But even this latest honour wasn’t without its dramas – the TV and radio personality admitted she lost her medal for a brief but panic-inducing 30 minutes on the day of the ceremony.
“What a special day. Met some incredible Australians while waiting to receive my award. Feel so honoured. #OrderOfAustralia,” Carrie captioned a selection of photos from her big day.
“Will try and forget the 30 mins where I lost my new medal 😩- went for coffee with my family after and discovered my medal had fallen off! Then in a panic had to look under chairs, cars, along gutters until I drove back to Government House and a lovely lady ran up to me to say they found it in the carpark 🤦♀️ the pin must have come undone. Never been so relieved.🙏…this one is going straight to the poolroom 😊,” she finished.

“I just wanted to make sure Carrie gets her medal back. She lost it in the car park at government house while taking photos with her family. My family and I found it on the ground and handed to staff at government house but not sure if they’d know how to get in contact with her. I think she’d already left,” the email read.
“If you are going to lose your medal, lose it at a place filled with good people!” Carrie captioned the snap.
“This was the lovely person who found my medal and then emailed to check I had got it back. Thank you kind stranger. So relieved.”
