Social media is awash with Carrie’s famous friends donning their beanies to help raise awareness for the star’s cancer research drive.

From Lisa Wilkinson’s sweet selfie with her dog, to Fifi Box’s hilarious attempt of a family photo with her beanie-clad daughters – Aussie celebs are fully embracing Carrie’s campaign.

Carrie launched Beanies 4 Brain Cancer following the tragic death of her former husband Greg Lange.

Launching it at the TV WEEK Logie Awards in 2015, the starlet said she wanted to “say or do something that represents Greg and he used to wear beanies all the time in Melbourne.”

The charity helps raise money for brain cancer research but in April this year, the television personality shared a heartbreaking update that her 2020 campaign was forced to be put on hold as the restrictions in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible for it to continue.

“We are so bummed, we’ve been working so hard and have hundreds of thousands of beanies waiting get on your beautiful heads,” she told her following on social media.

“But unfortunately corona has thrown up too many challenges at this point.”

Now, it looks like the host has tackled the challenges against the odds to bring the campaign back to life .

In May, Carrie announced her beloved beanies would be returning in mid-July.

“I am so relived to be able to bring you the news that we’ve found a way to bring your our 2020 beanie campaign.”

She continued: “Mid July, we’ll be able to get them on your beautiful heads. It is such a relief, Coronavirus certainly threw us a whole bunch of curveballs… But we’ve found a way to bring them to you.”
