If you haven’t yet tuned into Cameron and Ali Daddo’s podcast Separate Bathrooms, you really should.
After decades in the spotlight, where their relationship endured everything from praise to scrutiny, the husband and wife are exploring the highs and lows of married life and lessons learned in love.
While the couple get candid on all kinds of topics, there’s one they’re hesitant to touch.
“We do have things we won’t talk about, we’re pretty private around a lot of stuff to do with the kids,” Ali tells Now To Love exclusively before adding: “We’ll share some things once we’ve asked them if it’s okay.”
Despite being very open about the hardships they’ve endured, the 50-year-old admits that once she and husband Cam start recording there is the odd occasion the conversation goes too far, and they have to call cut.
“We do [have to stop],” she laughs, “And it’s usually me, but it’s very rare.”
Some may wonder why Ali and Cam would let listeners in on the intimate details of their relationship. Even the former 80s cover girl jokes it’s partly due to “insanity”, but it’s something they’ve always done.
Looking back at interviews with both Cam and Ali over the years, the couple have rarely shied away from any topic or question.
“We’ve been discussing our relationship in detail and publicly within a supportive forum in LA for a long time,” she says.
“We’ve done a lot of group therapy, one-on-one therapy and couple’s therapy. So, we were used to talking very intimately about our relationship to other people.”
When the couple moved back to Australia after living in the US for decades, Ali says they were met with a lot of comments about how “perfect” their relationship is.
For that very reason the couple wanted to start their podcast.
“We do have a good relationship, though it’s taken so much effort and we’ve gone through so many highs and lows. We’ve gone through times where we had split up, we have come back together, we’ve had to traverse all sorts of crazy stuff.”
