Self-professed feminist and former Neighbours star Caitlin Stasey is on a mission to change the world’s views, with one powerful photo at a time, but many believe the 27-year-old went too far, risking an Instagram ban by sharing an especially risky photo to her Instagram account.
A supporter of the ‘Free the Nipple’ campaign, the actress is no stranger to baring all for her social media fans in the name of female empowerment and body positivity – but her explicit snap of what appears to be a… uh, how do we put this… a close up of a body orifice, has raised a few eyebrows.
Those who wish to see the photo can do so on Stasey’s Instagram account here, but be warned the picture is not safe for work.
Stasey’s caption reassures her followers that the picture is not of her.
It’s clear that the picture was simply intended as a joke using a hashtag that is currently trending among celebrities online, #oldheadshotday, where celebrities reshare the old headshots and laugh in a throw back style.
Celebs who have shared old headshots include Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman and Alec Baldwin.
While not everyone liked the 27-year-old’s ‘joke’, her social media followers seemed to enjoy the cheeky shot, with most laughing and complimenting her on her “headshot.”
“Best angle ever!” said one fan.
Caitlin, who became a household name when she portrayed Rachel Kinski in the iconic Australian series Neighbours, is renowned in the online community as a proud feminist willing to push society’s boundaries in order to empower women in areas of sex, gender roles and body image.
“Women – Love each other, support each other, defend each other. It comes at a greater cost to you to attack the women around you than it does to empower them,” the outspoken Australian wrote in a tell-all blog post on her site, Herself.com.
Caitlin, who couldn’t care less about the keyboard warriors who don’t approve of her mission online, continues to spread her message as she tries to crack the Hollywood acting scene alongside her handsome beau, Raising Hope star Lucas Neff.
